Twitter is used by millions of people to share what's going on. Many entrepreneurs have been working hard to try to Monetize Twitter. All those people must buy something? Is it possible?

There is a growing number of programs out there teaching people how to make money on Twitter. Most use some sort of Twitter Tool to help get more followers they can sell to.

Some legit, others are scams. Most teach, or have tools that help you grow your followers and then twit including a link to your sales page of whatever you are selling. Sounds good to me. However, due diligence is needed here. Most vendors have a guarantee.

iTwitter followers are interested in what you do, your expertise and if you are in a good niche it is possible to sell affiliate products to your Twitter followers. It is much like compiling an email list of interested, and opt-in people and then selling to them.

It's a good idea to do a Google search for these product names to see if others have some comments. Be aware though - some shrewd affiliates buy ads with words like "scam" or "review" but they are really sales sites. Buyer be aware.

The raw fact is that it's like any other marketing strategy. You find people WILLING and ABLE to buy and sell them what they want or need. Simple. So the basic marketing strategy on Twitter is simply to get thousands upon thousands of followers to your Twitter account - and write informative tweets that they want to follow and slip in a very related product pitch. As an affiliate you will then make money when your trusted followers buy. That's how it is done. Easier said than done.

First you need to get tens of thousands of followers. You can do it the hard way, one at a time. OR, you can buy one of the Twitter tools out there. These programs, for the most part - automate the task of getting followers. They do that several different ways, one is to identify Twitter accounts that automatically follow you when you follow them.

You identify a target market. Preferably one that not every affiliate marketer on earth are targeting. Find a niche market. Don't try to compete with mortgages, insurance, SEO, making money on the web sort of things. Way too much competition. Pick something more obscure such as dog grooming, dog training or anything that YOU are really interested in and can write tweets on a regular basis.

Credible tweets that is. Then you look in ClickBank or CJ for appropriate affiliate products. After you have that all set up you buy one or more of these programs and go to town. Most of these programs will also explain how to do all of this. So instead of trying to figure it all out yourself - spending a hundred buck on a couple of iTwitter Tools is worth it. If you can't afford that - you might not be ready to start an online business.

When you research programs to buy you might want to do a search for the program's name. See what others think. But be aware - MOST of the hits you get are from affiliates doing a "review" of the programs. They are NOT independent reviews. I think it's best to go to the product's website and judge for yourself.
